you remind me of sunspots dancing on eyelashes through a car window. when it's all squints and scrunched noses.

you remind me of cold sheets on a summer night. limbs confused in the neverending fabric. sweat and refreshment.

you remind me of an old song i've never heard. humming along but not really knowing the words. doing that awful thing us humans do when we pretend to know.

you remind me of all terrible cliches that i thought sounded good.
