we forget that we already have everything we need in him. we don't get to decide who God is. with nothing and no one to compare him to.

Jesus spoke in parables so that those who weren't genuinely listening wouldn't get it. do not assume you are good soil. don't compare to others and consider yourself "godly enough". he wants all or nothing.

could you be satisfied with heaven if Christ was not there?

do you want to see God more than you desire security? "what are you doing right now that requires faith?" he does not not not call us to be comfortable. there has to be more to our faith than friendliness, politeness.
